”I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 7. I wasn’t very good at school when was in junior school (I have cognitive dyslexia, so I find it difficult retaining written information and getting my ideas on to paper), even being told I would never graduate high school  by my school. But in middle school I learned, the way I learned such as through talking to people and talking out what I am going to write was actually my greatest strength and not my weakness.

I ended up graduating high school with my age group, going to my first choice university, the University of Southampton (@uni_southampton), and studying my dream subject (since the age of 8): Marine Biology.
In July 2019 I graduated with a First Class honours MSci Marine Biology degree. During that time I completed four internships in three different countries: UK, Switzerland and Australia. Three internships were research-based and the other was working as a Stakeholder intern with Blue Marine Foundation (@bluemarinefoundation). All of which I got through talking to people (see my greatest strength ☺). Having finished my fifth internship in December I am now looking for work in Marine Biology. Having loved all aspects of marine biology I find it hard to choose in which direction to go. But in the meantime, I am still pursuing my passion of marine Biology but volunteering with SharkProject Switzerland and helping to promote their #StopFinningEU EU citizens initiative by going to events such as Dusseldorf Boot.”
